Cogent Computer Systems unveils the CSB1726, an ARMv6/7-based micro-server on a module. The CSB1726 provides a small, powerful engine for embedded Linux-based 10/100/1000 networking and storage applications.

It consists of the Quad Superscalar ARMv6/7 cores, 6-Lanes PCI Express Gen 2, high-speed USB, Dual Gen 2 SATA, Four 1G/2.5G Ethernet and on-board regulators, which make the CSB1726 the ideal for size-restricted, intensive micro-server, network and storage applications.

For the lowest power consumption, the IPM Micro can power the board down completely while remaining on standby power. In this mode, the board power consumption drops to less than 100mW.

The CSB1726 is constructed using advanced PCB layout and packaging technology such as 1,600MHz DDR3 balanced routing; 5GHz+ high-speed differential signalling; 18A peak switching regulators; and 8-layer, low EMI, impedance controlled PCB stackup.

The CSB1726 gives access to this technology without a long learning curve or the risk. The CSB1726 can be integrated using a simple, low cost 4-layer PCB through a no NRE custom design programme.
