Shipments of point-to-point microwave transmission equipment grew 14 per cent in 2014, according to a new report by Dell'Oro Group. This resulted in 1.4 million microwave radio transceiver shipments during the year.

"Demand for microwave backhaul equipment rebounded nicely in 2014," said Jimmy Yu, vice president of Microwave Transmission research at Dell'Oro Group. "After a couple years of contracting microwave radio transceiver shipments, it was great to have a high double-digit percentage shipment increase. Demand in the year was especially strong for packet-only microwave systems in full outdoor configuration. A trend, we think will continue for a number of years."
