Colibrys Ltd has unleashed the first example of the second generation of its variable capacitive MEMS vibration sensors. According to the company, the VS1000 is a DC to 2kHz vibration sensor that provides remarkable bias-stability, shock resistance, linearity and noise performance.

An embedded self-test feature ensures that the device is still functional at all times.

It embeds a MEMS sensor, an ASIC with a powerful 200kHz internal clock and a temperature sensor, the combination of which offers a flat frequency response from DC to 1500Hz ±5 per cent.

The VS1000 will soon be available with dynamic ranges of from ±2g to ±200g that are part numbered VS1002 to VS1200.
