DC/DC controllers offer 0.5V to 5.5V output voltage

Intersil has released its DC/DC controllers that combine fast transient response with the flexibility of a digital PMBus interface. The ISL68200 with integrated 4A MOSFET drivers can directly drive external MOSFETs, while the ISL68201 with PWM output can be paired with a DrMOS power stage to create a complete voltage regulator solution, detailed the company.
The company's R4 modulation technology provides a compensation-free control loop for optimal transient response. R4 offers both variable-frequency and variable duty-cycle control, reducing load step deviation by up to 67 per cent and peak-to-peak deviation by up to 46 per cent. In addition, a PFM operating mode can be enabled to improve light-load efficiency.
Integrated LDO regulators provide controller bias voltage, allowing single-supply operation. Input voltage ranges from 4.5V to 24V. The controllers provide an output voltage of 0.5V to 5.5V with DAC accuracy of 0.5 per cent. Both the ISL68200 and ISL68201 include a PMBus/SMBus/I2C interface operating at up to 1.25MHz for device configuration, telemetry, and fault reporting.
The single-phase synchronous PWM controllers provide POL conversions for FPGAs, DSPs, ASICs, processors, and general-purpose system rails. The ISL68200 and ISL68201 are supplied in 24-lead, 4mm x 4mm QFN packages and operate over a temperature range of -40C to 85C.
