Dual op amps from ST operate from 2.7V to 36V

STMicroelectronics has unleashed what it describes as dual TSB572 and single TSB611 BiCMOS op amps that have wide supply range and tolerate ESD up to 4kV HBM. The BiCMOS process achieves GBW/ICC (gain-bandwidth product per input current) efficiency that results in about five times lower supply current in relation to performance than standard op amps, stated the company.

With rail-to-rail inputs and outputs, the TSB572 operates from a 4V to 36V supply voltage with current consumption of 380A typical at 36V. The TSB611, which offers rail-to-rail output, can operate from a supply voltage as low as 2.7V and consumes just 125A maximum at 36V.

The TSB572 dual op amp has a 2.5MHz gain-bandwidth product and a 1.5mV maximum input-offset voltage, while the TSB611 single op amp provides a gain-bandwidth product of 560kHz and a maximum input-offset voltage of 1mV. Low input-offset voltages with temperature drift below 6V/C simplify system design, eliminate any need for trimming or calibration, and ensure consistent performance over the specified temperature range of -40C to 125C.

Aimed at automotive and industrial applications, the op amps come in compact packages for use where space is tight, like automotive audio systems and ECUs. The TSB572 is supplied in a 3mm x 3mm DFN or Mini-SO8 package, with prices starting at $0.80. The TSB611 is housed in a SOT23-5 package, priced from $0.55 in lots of 1000 units.
