What does HDMI stand for?
High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) is digital, point-to-point interface for A/V signals. Introduced in 2002, it is designed as a single-cable solution for home theater and consumer electronics equipment. It is electrically similar to video-only DVI, and although it also includes audio, HDMI plugs and sockets, it is considerably smaller.
